A SPECIAL ISLAND
Although only a small island, Tory is home to more red listed breeding birds than any other single location in Ireland. Roughly 10% of Irish Corncrakes can be found here, making themselves at home in the gardens and nettle patches of the Islands residents.
Dunlin, Redshank, Snipe, Lapwing, Ringed Plover and Oystercatchers also breed in suitable habitat. The precipitous cliffs are home to Chough, Ravens and Peregrine Falcons, as well as large colonies of seabirds, including Puffins. The surrounding seas are full of life, with regular encounters of Grey and Common Seals, Dolphins, Porpoises, Minke Whales and Basking Sharks.

Tory Island offers something to every nature lover thoughout the year.
